What we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

What we collect

Your account details from Google sign-in: name, email address, and profile picture. A username you choose. Anything you add to your profile — nickname, bio, English level, interests, conversation preferences.

Records of which rooms you joined and which conversations you had, including when they started and ended. We do not store who you were paired with in a way that is shown to anyone.

Basic technical data your browser sends, such as IP address, needed to route a video call and to rate-limit abuse.

What we do not collect

We do not record video or audio. Conversations are peer-to-peer where the network allows it, which means the media does not pass through our servers at all.

We do not sell data. We do not run advertising.

Why we hold it

To run the service: pairing you with someone, letting a host screen you, showing your buddies who you are. To keep people safe: investigating reports, enforcing bans. To fix things: diagnosing errors.

Who can see what

A host screening you sees your display name, English level, and bio. Other participants see what your profile shows. Your buddy list and your blocked list are private to you — nobody is told they were saved or blocked.

Your memos are private to you and are never shown to the person they are about.

Sharing

We use third parties to run the service: a database and authentication provider, a hosting provider, and a relay server for video calls that cannot connect directly. They process data on our behalf and nothing more.

We disclose data to authorities only where legally required.

How long we keep it

Account data for as long as your account exists. Conversation records for [retention period]. Reports and moderation records for longer, because that is what makes a ban meaningful.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it. Write to privacy@example.com and we will respond within [30] days.

Children

Air is not for children. If we learn an account belongs to someone under the minimum age, we delete it.
